Quilt Coat

In this class, you will learn how to turn an old quilt (or newly quilted fabric) into a jacket/coat. We will be using the Tamarack Jacket pattern by Grainline Studio, available in our store. You will need enough quilted material to accommodate the pattern.

Prior to the class:
1. Purchase quilt coat pattern
2. Take your measurements and use the appropriate size according to the pattern
3. Select appropriate size and make sure you have enough quilted fabric. NOTE: If your fabric is directional or you want to  make your quilt coat longer, please add 1/2 yard to fabric requirements.

Requirements:
1. Sewing machine, and a size 14 or 16 needle for your machine, recommend Microtex
2. Thread, scissors, straight pins
3. Fabric for binding (cut on bias)
4. Needle and matching thread for hand stitching
5. Extra fabric for strips for Hong Kong seam finishing
6. Rotary cutter

Please note: If you have any questions regarding pattern placement or to make sure you have enough quilted fabric, please come to the store so we can address this PRIOR to class day.

Also, our classroom area is upstairs, and our staff will carry your machine up for you.

We can't wait to see your creations!
