Tuffet Class
Supplies:
-Sewing machine with power cord and foot control and manual. New needle
-Basic sewing kit with neutral thread or thread that compliments most fabrics
-Add-a-quarter ruler
-3/4 yd of extra wide muslin or 1 1/4 yd 44" muslin
-Rotary cutter with new blade
-Cutting mat
-Small iron and iron mat (recommended)
PRE-CLASS WORK:
HAVE YOUR FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING SHEET FUSED TO YOUR PIECE OF MUSLIN.
You will need to order your Tuffet kit and pattern and have them before coming to class. Order from Tuffet Source, tuffetsource.com. Call 919-413-1459
BEFORE Class:
-Select fabrics and cut 64 strips 2"x22" (or if using precuts, 2 1/2" is ok). If you want each panel to have the same combination, choose 8 fat quarters (or (8) 1/4 yd cuts)
-18-20" fabric circle to cover bottom of tuffet
-6" fabric circle to cover button, or decorative 2 1/2" button
Optional:
-Purchased trims, rickrack, lace, beads, etc may be added to completed tuffet.
-Flat braid or gimp may be glued on bottom to cover staples for a more finished look.
